A meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Monday 4th April at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall.

A second meeting has been arranged for 7.35 pm to consider awarding the Honorary Freedom of the Parish to a parishioner in recognition of their years of service to the Parish.

Some of you may be aware of the funeral of Paul Richardson in Mitford tomorrow. Parking and traffic on the Mitford Steads road was likely to cause problems given the roadworks in the village. This has been raised this with Highways and they have agreed to restrict vehicle traffic on that route between 12-00 and 2-30 tomorrow (Tuesday) to residents and people attending the funeral; access will be controlled at the Mitford road junction (church bank) and the Whalton road junction.

IMMINENT ROAD CLOSURE / ROADWORKS

Monday 21st February to Friday 4th March between 9am – 3pm.

This is for carriageway resurfacing and civils on the Mitford Road, through the village. It’s likely that this will be from just west of the A1 flyover to the top of Church bank. Access will be achievable for residents and although some delays may inevitably occur, these can hopefully be kept to a minimum.

An active diversion route will be in place; pedestrian & emergency access will be possible. Due to the nature of the work, residents will be asked to remove all vehicles from the carriageway during working hours. Please note that this will be weather dependent.
